    Tiny but interesting
There isn't much to this museum, but what's there is interesting. Several touch screens are mounted around the room with videos and/or text about various aspects of Piran's history, including the town wall, salt flats, and how the various governments worked. There are also archaeological trenches with glass over top so you can walk over them, and a lower level where you can walk into the trench. The trenches are only labeled in Slovenian and Italian, but the rest of the displays are in multiple languages each, including English, German, Italian, Russian and Slovenian. Upstairs is a 3-D movie about Piran's history. It lasts about 15 minutes and is a nice, basic overview of what was said downstairs. The movie would have been fine for young children but the rest of the exhibition not so much-- too much reading! They did have a toddler table with crayons and paper for very little ones--it was a bit random, but sweet that somebody made an effort to entertain the smallest visitors.
