Dragonja a hidden gem in slovenian istria

Really a wild place with no modern structures. Perfect for walking and enyoing the nature. It is not that easy to find the hidden locations of river Dragonja since it is more then 50 km longe. I sugest to take the road to Dragonja town and then asking some locals where to turn for the beautifull valley of river Dragonja. Perfect!

natural paradise near the touristic coast
A must for all nature lovers! Transportation is scarce - best way taking a car or even bike (from Portoroz) would be fine. Otherwise, walking from Dragonja village is quite long. Best spots for a dip in refreshing water is at an old mill, where there is a small waterfall (dry in hot weeks) - some 5 km, and a road splits here - going to the right over the river, you will get to Dragonja river in less than 1 km. Than follow it upstream to the first spots with kind of water lagoons... There is also a path mostly from the left side of the river. - Take water, towel and good hiking shoes.
