Most Beautiful Rose On Papuk

Hard to get through all to the top, if you're traveling by train. Center Of City Orahovica located almost 2 hours of walking from the train station, but it's worth it once you see Orahovica lake and climb your way to see Ruins in person. I would definitely recommend this location for 1 recreational day of adventure.vv

    Worth a climb
Absolutely amazing! If you are coming with a car aim for Jezera (Lake) as it was hard to see a sign Ruzica Castle anywhere. Few times if you are paying a close attention it is possible to spot some ruins from the bottom while approaching with a car, but gps leads to different path. There is a big car park just next to the lake, then follow the woods/bbq setups until you come to the visible road (It might be possible to come slightly higher up by car but we were not sure if it is only for vehicles with permit, and also it is a nice walk through woods! Castle ruins are not visible while you are climbing, then you arrive to an open space and I would recommend not to look right but to turn left few steps up the small hill-observatory and then turn around. It is stunning view, so powerful and facinating. Ruins are so impressive that it is hard to describe with words. After getting enough (if possible) of the views- from both castle and surroundings in valley, head up. It requires again a little bit of climbing and be careful as the ruins are very fragile-still can fall down, then you can explore room by room and towers with incredible views. The only problem is that there are two boards with explanations and they are both in Croatian and also they are quite old too and need updating. So worth it!
