Guided tour is a must

Foteviken Museum is an archaeological open air museum that conveys how life might have been in a town during the late Viking Age - early Middle Ages. Aside from traditional exhibitions the museum has a reconstructed Viking town with 23 buildings of different kinds, and a reconstructed Viking ship based on an archaeological find made in the Bay of Foteviken. The week following Midsummer the museum arranges the annual Foteviken Viking Market, an international fair that draws hundreds of merchants, craftsmen and Viking warriors from across Europe, and thousands of regular visitors.

    Guided tour is a must
We visited the place as we were in Lund. Entrance price is fair, but make sure you get on time for a guided tour if you want to learn things. Our guide was a real storyteller, which made the visit exciting and really worth it. So give them a call to get the schedule (only at 11:00 and 13:30 on that day). Take time to ask questions to the 'residents' who are very keen to share their experience and knowledge. Visiting without the tour is not worth.

    Outdoors history museum
We thought the museum was just OK. There was not a special event or many volunteers leading or doing activities. It is great that it is a safe activity outdoors during pandemic times. We took our dog which was also nice to do with him.
