The square is fascinating and there are lots of very friendly people hanging out there.
It is almost impossible to miss this square, if you're in Taiyuan City. It is the landmark that I always use for taxi drivers. If you are a foreigner, like me, people will stop to chat to you. There is great shopping nearby. It is a fascinating place. Taiyuan is a sensational city. Make sure that you go to the Taiyuan Library: the architecture is exceptional. This is where China invests wisely.

The square is nice
It's a nice square. On one part there is a place with a lot of pigeons and the pigeon house.

re-building
Traffice jam everywhere because of the subway building. It may take 1-2 years to finish the construction. But the place is really a business center for shopping, eating, etc.
