Ancient temple from the Tang dynasty

There is something magical about entering a temple that is 1200 years old. The ancient wooden structure with some peeling paint added to the mystique of the place. Though it is small in size, it is rich in history. Would love to go back!

Not sure how to rate it
This temple is difficult to rate. It is of vast historic significance as it was built way back in 782 AD during Tangdezong rein of the Tang Dynasty. It is more than 1,200 yrs old. The Grand Hall is the oldest existing wooden construction both in China and Asia, according to the information posted. There are statutes of Buddha said to be similar in style to those found in the Mogao grottoes in Dunhuang. Visually, it is not very impressive. Just a wooden building with statutes. The toilets are out houses with holes in the ground and smell as expected. Unless you are interested in history, you can miss this one
