Be sure to look around, absorb, feel the history, the peace, the calmness. Regardless of what religion you practice, this space - the space within these walls is comfortable and tranquil. Be aware, should you visit on a weekend or a holiday, suspect the situation maybe a little different: more movement, people, noise but I visited on a week day, non-holiday and was so happy I did.

    A hidden gem - and worth the visit
    Was on a work conference on Chongming Island and decided last minute to visit - and was very surprised at how large the temples were. The area covers several big and large temples, very ornate and colourful - and very peaceful (it was a Monday in Jan so almost no tourists). Had a very authentic feel - and we were able to go into most buildings (at no charge). Well worth a visit if in the area.

    Memorable
    Been to this temple before as my Father in Laws Ashes reside in this temple. Must see the huge Jade Buddha but you must ask to see it as it is not easy to find....Tranquil setting and nice Temple.
