A peaceful place where a great general rested
Wudi has been mentioned a number of times in the history of China associated with the Huns in the years around 100 BC. One of his two great generals of the Western Han dynasty, Huo Qubing, was buried here. The place is very peaceful and beautiful, with several small exhibition rooms to learn more about Huo Qubing and his time. If you love the stories of that time, you need to be here and see it, feel it yourself.

Nice place, must-see for Han dynasty fans
A great place to visit, especially if one is interested in Han dynasty history. Huo Qubing's tomb and the Maoling Museum are near the tomb of Han Wu Di nearby, which is also (partially) open to visitors. Maoling Museum has quite a few nice artifacts, such as swords, hill censers, bronze money, etc, and a mannequin scene sequence depicting major events in the life of the Martial Emperor of Han. The buildings in the compound are well-designed and -maintained. Outside are placed some statues from the tomb, including the famous "Horse Tramples Hun" -- now with roofs installed over them to prevent further erosion. The walkways up and around the tomb mound allow a nice view of the complex and the nearby pyramidal tombs, and lead to the temple dedicated to this great young general.
