Beautiful historical palace!
When we arrived at the site, gates were locked! But, at the guardhouse, the sign says ‘Open’! So I had to search for someone so that I could enter. We really wanted to visit the palace as it holds much history about Sultan Alaeddin, 5th Sultan of Selangor. Finally found the guard. He allowed us in. Free entrance but parking is by the side of the road. Even though it was not very welcoming, we still wanted to visit since we drove from KL. And, it was worth it. Palace grounds was well maintained. Palace was empty; wished furnishings were still there. Good visit.

an abandon castle
the old castle was like an abandon castle. from the villagers, they said the castle is in restoration process and maybe it will become a tourist spot later. for me, the architecture of the castle was nice. it should be restored for the next generation. and need some promotion about this place.

Palace needs a deep maintenance
The day we visited this place it was on Sultan Selangor's Birthday and there was an event taking place there. Even with Covid SOP is in place the place is quite crowded and many kids/adults are not wearing their mask nor practising social distancing. The palace is pretty run down and the place is very bare with empty rooms and no labels or any indication of its history or anything to help visitor understand what that room or place is used for long ago. The architecture is beautiful I believe is from Indian Muslim influences and based on a website it also stated that Chinese Immigrants help build this place. All this info would have been useful if it was placed around the Palace. From the pictures I've seen in websites this place look very beautiful with yellow/white paint but the one we saw yesterday was very white washed and hardly had any thing. I'm not sure this is due to covid that bashed the tourism industry for (nearly) 2 years but I honestly hope it will be back to looking awesome again.
