The best thing. about our charter was our crew! Capt Alec was an extraordinary sailor and an engaging human. From the moment we boarded the boat it was obvious that our safety was his main concern. Between Alec and Johnnie (our mate) I felt we were being watched over like a mother lion watches her cubs. Both the crew members were personable and had a good sense of humor. They were not intrusive but ever-present. They were able to accommodate our wishes rapidly and effectively. We sailed an Ipanema 58. The boat was in fair shape and fit our 8 people and crew comfortably. Overall a great time!

Epic voyage
Susan with DYC did a fantastic job working with our gang to make sure our BVI trip was an epic success. our trip was delayed a couple years due to covid and she was always there for our questions and concerns. our original cat was damaged and DYC gave us an upgrade and Captain and mate at no additional charge. Captain Alak and mate Johnnie were spot on! those two gents made our trip. we could not have asked for a better vacation. thank you Susan and DYC

Unfortunately not a great experience
It’s really unfortunate that Dream Yacht is so poorly run, because the location and the facility should make for a great charter base. Unfortunately, the boats are not well maintained, and the charter experience, as a result, is not good. Even their newer boats are amazingly worn, with many broken parts. The boast are not very clean and the dinghy’s and engines are marginal at best. I feel badly for the team that operates this facility, because they are generally very nice people, but they are clearly operating without enough resources for maintenance and upkeep. Our boat had several missing items, broken latches, broken shower head - a winch that didn’t operate properly, a ripped dodger, etc. Fortunately, the engine, battery, hot water and other important items worked fine - so we made due with the charter and had an OK experience. However, for the price, these boats are not what they appear to be on their website and are incredibly poorly maintained… I hope that this review will cause the ownership to invest in the area and support their team on the ground. It’s a great location to start a charter and the people who work there seem to be trying to do the best with what they have….
