What a great little course, we enjoyed our 9 holes, excellent condition. Wonderful for a small town to have such a great little course. Sure was loads of fun

Bring your "A" Game...
A flat river plain is the location of this public 18 hole course. Water hazards on about 6 holes. The front nine provides 9 holes to tune your stroke, aiming at small turtle-shell shaped greens from mostly open fairways. The back nine is a different experience. Large pecan trees line every fairway. Doglegs, straight holes require PRECISE ball placement, or you will find yourself under the trees, with one option - your three iron. Punch it back into play down the fairway, and take your medicine of a "penalty" stroke. Good luck to you if you choose otherwise. Beware the sanding of the greens each spring about late April. Green Fee plus cart fees are among the lowest in Texas, and the greens are well maintained. Natural springs feed the stream running alongside the course, providing plenty of irrigatin water, even in 2011 anf 2012 drought. Enjoy!

Great course for a small town !!
18 holes in a town of 3,000 is a surprise. The original 9 holes were build in a pecan bottom along the San Saba River -- very tight and demanding, but not all that long. A second 9 was added 20+ years ago -- somewhat longer with smaller trees, making it more open than the original nine. Greens are in very good condition -- medium sized to small -- some have slopes that require some "touch". Fairways need more grass and consistency. But for a small town course, this is a real treat !!
