An incredible museum exhibit
This wandering route through an art gallery, historic Pharmacy, private home and music sala lead you to a fabulous Art Gallery next to Santo Domigo. It is inspired. It features display cases with a trio of pieces which reflect a theme: one pre-Columbian, and two contemporary. Just fabulous and has great didactic.

Great hidden find
It took some work to find this place, tucked away in the northeast (?) corner of Antigua, but once you make your way through the hotel complex you'll find walkways leading off through church ruins to all sorts of unexpected things -- multiple macaws, an archaeological museum, a crypt, a chocolate shop with superior truffles, and my target: a museum combining pre-Colombian art with modern works by glass masters -- pairing up ancient pottery or sculpture of jaguars, birds or humans with modern interpretations. Beautiful and well done. We found it late in the day but would have had fun exploring the whole grounds for a couple hours.
