Went to this beautiful memorial site for the first time this year and found it to be a very humbling experience. It is a year round memorial about a mile away from Roscommon, Michigan, dedicated to the valiant fallen firefighters from all across the State of Michigan with their names, etched in marble slabs, a large statue of a fireman and various tribute markers, all on a beautifully maintained hillside with sidewalks, stairs and a parking lot. The annual "memorial service" that is held every year, coincides with the Fireman's Festival activities at the fairgrounds, which also has been an annual event for thirty six years.
