Wonderful collection and nice atmosphere
We enjoyed our visit on a saturday afternoon. It was quite quiet in the museum so pleasant to take our time to view all the beautiful artworks. Exquisite collection with works from the middle ages until modern times. Not to be missed!

Amazing Museum
An amazing Museum. A lot of great paintings, sculptures and objects of other arts and crafts. Adequately represented are the Middle ages and the local artistical school. I especially looked a collection of paintings by Dutch artists. I would recommend to visit it. It is a pity that now it has moved with Florinsmarkt. There, in a historic mansion, it would look more organic. Generally the museum has no luck in this respect. During its history it changed more than a dozen addresses. Moreover, when it was in the Palace of the electors, a significant part of its priceless exhibits was destroyed by bombing. But even after that in its funds there are enough genuine masterpieces.

For art enthusiasts but wide range of pictures etc.
I wouldn't normally spend an hour and a half looking at a large collection of artwork from about 1400 to the present day, particularly if it did not contain blockbuster names. This one is very good. Well curated and superbly lit. Every one labelled and dated in German & English with a good English speaking guide on hand. The landscapes are particularly good. Not for young children but, on a rainy day in Koblenz it was good value
