Current exhibit is on the Hapsburgs
This is just across the plaza from the cathedral. They currently have an exhibition on the Hapsburgs. It is a big subject to cover, but they did a good job. To interest the younger generation, the exhibit opens with a newscast about the latest exploits of the dynasty. Further along, there is a chat bar where you can see text conversations about the Hapsburgs on phones. NOTE: Everything is in German only.

Nice museum but probably should have selected from the permanent collection to view
This was the last place we visited in Speyer and we chose to see the special exhibit on Marilyn Monroe. It was a great exhibit but extensive so we lost our energy to see the permanent collection. Our error not to focus on exhibits unique to this museum.
