What a complete 20th century museum

Visited the Ludwig museum April 6, 2012 and it was fantastic. I believe 6 euro admission you saw among one of the largest Picasso collections in the world. Also Warhal as well as Matise and many others. Many modern European artists. You must rent a locker as you cannot take bags into the museum. Cameras are OK without a flash. Well worth your time and money. Happy travels

Very small modern art collection but nice special exhibitions once in a while
If it weren't for the special exhibitions the Ludwig Museum hosts one really could not recommend to visit there. Their „permament“ collection on the top floor is tiny and consist of mostly minor artists that present themselves in a wide array of styles and media. We were lucky in June of 2019 to catch an exhibition by LED artist Deng Guo Yuang which offered a range of colorful LED installations in all shapes and sizes. One almost had to wear sunglasses in face with all of this artificial light! The second floor featured an exhibition of small fantasy toy figures by the same artist that were arranged in mobiles or on mirror cubes. Overall the place is rather average and has little in common with the large collections one can see in big cities but check out the special exhibitions. You may just be in luck like we were.

    Wasn't that interesting for me.
The first two floors were closed for the preparation of an exhibition. Susan Swartz had an exhibition on the other two floors. But I really didn't care too much for her work.
