A great stop after shoe shopping nearby
I was told to check out Schuhmeile because the assortment of quality shoes in one place is amazing. Afterwards, I had looked up the German shoe museum to explore on my own- only about a mile down the street. For 7 euros I got an English audio guide to follow along through the 4 floors of exhibits! The top floor had a sports related exhibit- probably due to the Rio Summer Olympics. I thought it was well done- covering the historical impact of the shoe manufacturing business in the area and worldwide. Glad I stopped in, but I wouldn't make a far journey here unless shoes are really your "thing".

don't miss it!
It is such a good reflection of Social history and helps to understand how the village has changed. It also reflects the changes in Europe at the time of the height of the industry. Great displays!

Interesting but lengthy
The museum is very interesting, but it becomes rather much after a while. The information is I believe mostly in German, which makes it hard work for non-German speakers.
