Parque Regional Salinas, Region of Murcia, Spain

4.5 (234 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in San Pedro del Pinatar Nature & Wildlife Areas

This spot is a must see area

Every year on arrival in the San Pedro first stop is Bay Bikes get my self a good sturdy bike and head to the wilds of Wild Life park and salt streams. I take a picnic and my paints and brushes and loose myself in one of the most unspoilt spots one can find . If you like pease and quite this is the place for you. A bike is a must hense I mentioned Bay Bikes and their shop is local. Have yourself a mud treatment on the way back and wash all that stress out of your system and its all free. Don't forget to look at the wild birds and visit the deserted beach. TomC

    Close up to the Flamingos
The San Pedro de Salinas Regional Parque, is a marvellous place for birdwatching, with boardwalks along many kilometres of salt lagoons, then off through the dunes and onto the 2 long beaches either side of Fish dock/marina. Cafe's and brinks are available on the Marina, including the excellent Café Cielo. But back to Bird-watching. When just turning onto the salt lake road, the flamingos are often close up to the road and are amazing to watch, together with all the other smaller birds there.

    wonderful mud tat free
Fantastic free energising place, so much to do without being hassled or ripped off. Had a totally unexpected wonderful day out costing nothing. parked free by windmill, walked around lakes looking at birds, could have hired a bike, had coffee and light lunch on beach cheaper than in resorts. Wallowed in glorious mud, watched flamingos whilst drying, then washed off on waist deep warm sea, then lay in a pink stream full of minerals. To finish off joined a water aerobics class in sea FREE, a fantastic experience so much so have booked to stay in area again very soon.
