Thought these trees were stunning in the gardens

We really enjoyed these gardens …which are much more like a park. Places for kids to play etc. the most striking element are the massive trees ..see photos.

    Fantastic Trees
A lovely spot which we seen on our tour of Murcia. The large old trees are absolutely wonderful to see. Well worth a visit.

An immaculate, historically fascinating garden/park to visit.
My wife and I visited the gardens on a number of occasions, during the day and at night, during a recent long weekend in Murcia City. We were impressed by a number of features, including the massive trees (very similar to those found in the centre of Cartagena)), the flower displays - which were immaculate given the time of year - and by the lamps which illuminate the scene magnificently at night. These lamps all have the imprint of their date of manufacture clearly displayed, which is 1832, and they look as good now as they obviously did 190 years ago. The gardens are very centrally located, and a visit here can be combined with shopping, eating, or just walking along the banks of the river Segura. The Conde de Floridablanca was probably the most powerful man in Spain during parts of the late 18th century, a native of Murcia, and obviously still remembered in these parts (his statue is worth a look at). It's a really nice place to sit in and walk through, so do take a look if you're in the vicinity!
