Running of the wine horses
Well what a fantastic fiesta. May 2nd every year is a bank holiday for the town to which they celebrate the running of the wine horses, a spectacle not to be missed. We drove there, easy to park in the side streets and wandered into the main part of the old town. We were greeted with hundreds of locals ready to watch the beautifully decorated horses run. Get as close to the castle as you can and stand clear as they thunder down the road and you literally watch the crowds part as the horses miss the spectators by inches. 60 horses ran. Started 1400-2100.

Beautiful
Caravaca is an absolutely beautiful town. We visited on our saga trip and everyone agreed how lovely it was. Nice castle and wonderful old buildings. Plenty of cafes and restaurants as well.
