Good food, shame about the lack of Spanish beers.
We revisited La Abadía on Friday night. The food was still good and the service excellent. We especially enjoyed the four different types of potatoes, the confirmation in steamed bread, the little chorizo sausages and the mushroom croquetas. I was alittle disappointed that although they serve all sorts of Belgian beers, they still only serve different varieties of Mahou. I would have liked to see a Spanish craft beer or two. This is a great venue for a group evening out. You can try lots of different things and it won't break the bank. We had more than enough food, some beer and soft drinks and some nice desserts: cheesecake, melt in the middle chocolate puddings and profiteroles and a coffee and left a healthy tip for €20 per person.?

A bite size break
Found a reference to the Aquarium while looking for a place to park on the other side of the river. Very easy to get to, less than 1km from the motorway off at Barrio Del Carmen and a short distance down Calle Cartegena on the left in a quadrangle of university buildings. Only a euro to get in and only a few tanks but there are information screens and the baby sharks and seahorses are the main attraction. Worth a look and only ten minutes walk to the Town Hall area. Big underground car park next to it.
