El Quseir Fort, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

Interesting!

The citadel's story is interesting, in addition to its role in the ottoman era in observing the Egyptian convoy traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Also there is a map on the citadel's floor for Egyptian under the rule of the Roman empire.

    Well worth a visit
An old ramshackle Ottoman Fort that's a bit dusty but worth a visit. Fought over by the British and French in 19C has some good exhibits highlights include climbing a watch tower to look down on a map of Roman Egypt (and good views of the town and bay). Some good information boards in English and Arabic. Toilets were a bit poor but were in the process of being renovated. Costs 15LE for adults and 8LE for kids. Could easily spend an hour here before going round the shops and beach side cafes that El Quseir has to offer.

    Not much there
Small fort with a train and tracks to show how phosphate was mined. Interesting stone map, and you can go up in the tower and look over the area.
