Worth the visit - great views - a guide is a must
Awesome residence - overwhelming really. The museum is just hum-drum but our guide, Arun, made it come alive and made is super interesting. Don’t skimp on the guide. The European art of scenes from the Ramayana is not to be missed. Nor the car collection in the barn area in the front. Please set your expectations to NOT SEE much of the building as the private quarters and the hotel area are not accessible.

Must visit
I was having a layover at Jodhpur and had some time at my hand so decided you visit this place. The place is majestic with some prob given to Hotel Taj, a part of it is owned by the Raj still and a part of it is a museum. If history express you one must visit the museum. The entry fee is minimal but the museum is worth every penny. Overall an excellent visit will recommend it to one and all for sure.

Museum Visit Experience is Average
The Umaid Bhawan looks beautiful. The view around is worthwhile. From the visitors perspective, we are only allowed to see 20% of the Bhawan, which is the museum and vintage car collection. Visitors are not allowed to stand around the area that has the hotel. Thus, visit experience comes down. Overall, when in Jodhpur and if you have time, then you can visit Umaid Bhawan.
