Whitsunday paradise

Awesome day out on the bay at Dingo beach. Catching fish as soon as the first bait hit the water and it didn’t stop until we left. Duncan and Vicky really looked after us and Duncan’s wealth of local information and passion for the area is impressive. Dingo beach and Hydeaway Bay are a local piece of paradise that’s away from the hustle bustle and touristy activities at Airlie Beach. Can’t wait to get back here again soon.

Glorious day experiencing the Whitsundays in a tinny off Dingo Beach
Our family hired a tinny for the day and travelled to Saddleback Island where we based ourselves and spent the day swimming, snorkelling and fishing around different parts of the island. We all caught at least one fish and got to swim with a huge turtle. We packed a picnic lunch. It was beautiful and serene, except for a couple of passing boats we saw no one. Duncan and Vicki were extremely helpful and explained everything very well. We hired an esky, fishing and snorkelling equipment and the whole day cost just under $300. A great day had by all including teenagers. No boat licence required Highly recommend this for a day out.

Hire a boat for a day to go to a remote private beach and snorkel pristine coral reefs
This has been the best experience thus far in Airlie Beach area. Rather than being driven around on a crowded tourist boat, we hired our own small motor boat in Dingo Beach one day. We spent about 6 hours motoring around. We landed on two deserted beaches and just kicked back there. The first beach (on Saddleback Island) had an absolutely stunning coral reef in front of it. We snorkeled around and had lunch on a picnic table at the back of the beach. But these are just some options for boating out of Dingo Beach. Important tips: (1) call ahead to arrange the rental, (2) you do not have to have a marine certification to rent a boat (although you can rent a better one if you do). I just had my US passport with me.
