As good as ever

We had a great day out at Sea World recently. The park was absolutely packed but it was the weekend and by heading straight for the rides on opening we got around the park pretty good despite the crowds. Got to ride the Storm Coaster twice & Jet Rescue once. Gave up trying to get on the Jet Rescue again as the queue was too long. The rest of the park is as good as ever, loved the dolphin show and the highlight of our day was our seal encounter. This was very $$$ but my son loves seals and this was an incredible experience for him. We all enjoyed it very much but felt there was too much focus on photos. Like we paid for the opportunity to get photos with the seals rather than learn more/interact with the seals, which we would have liked more of. The park will be even better once the new Atlantis section opens, the leviathan coaster looks great. All in all a great day out for both adults and the kids.

    Know what you're in for
We bought the three park pass and this was our second one and probably the most enjoyable out of the three we went to (Movieworld and WetnWild were the other two). We were incredibly lucky though in that it wasn't mentally busy despite it being January school holidays We arrived at 9AM to start queuing to get into the entrance (there was already a queue when we got there). If you can purchase tickets and download the village roadshow theme park app beforehand, will make your day go smoother Once the gates were open people ran for the queues to the Leviathan (the biggest roller coaster). We headed for the Trident and then kept checking the app which has a virtual queue (VQ) function (this then saves you from queuing, you can only use it on one ride at a time though) Luckily the wait for the Trident was only (!!) 30 minutes, so we signed up for VQ for Leviathan and then went to the Vortex, which probably because it looked quite vomit inducing, there were no queues the VQ for Leviathan was about 2 hours so we looked at what shows we could watch and then came back and did the Leviathan. The jetski ride and storm coaster ride had 30 minute queues as well which wasn't too bad. My eldest ended up going on the Vortex six times as not much queues The shows were nothing spectacular but provided useful respite from the sun (and a chance to sit down). Ray feeding was a highlight (you do have to queue up to purchase the feed and they sell out quite quickly)
