Hidden gem - worth the bushwalk
The bushwalk into the lake was a bit of work but fun for our large group to do together. Beautiful forest to walk through, and by the time you get to the lake -stunning views and a secluded, beautiful spot - you’ve really earned a relaxing swim! The water is much deeper than at McKenzie and Birrabeen, so keep your kids close. The sand is so soft and beautiful here.

Marvelous lake
Lake is not accessible by car, you need to go approximately 1 hour from beach. But I really encourage anyone to go there. Last part of the trail goes on white sand almost burning your feet so I was really keen to jump to refreshing water in lake. Place is almost not crowded. I met just individuals during my trip to lake.

Worth the effort!
Lake Wabby does not have the clear blue colour of Lake McKenzie & it is quite small compared to the size of L. McKenzie but it is very much worth making the effort to reach the lake. It is reached via a two km walk part of which is across a spectacular sand blow which in turn leads to a sand dune which one needs to descend to reach the lake. What goes down has to go up & climbing up the pretty steep dune is a challenge! Two steps forward & three back but everyone in our small group made it without too much difficulty!
