Marvellous 1770reef tour

The 1770reef tour would always be a memorable experience for my family. Despite being an overcast day with some rain, the crew led by Isaac left no stone unturned to provide us the best possible experience. We are thankful to Chloe and Lily for the amazing reef tour and both of them helping and guiding my daughter with her first snorkeling experience. Barrie shared quite a lot of information about the reef during the glass bottom boat tour. The food provided was quite sumptuous and took care of our dietary requirements also. I would definitely recommend them and it’s worth visiting the island and the reef experience.

    awesome must do experience
This was our first tour out to the reef, we were pleasantly surprised on how attentive all staff were! especially in assisting parents with their little ones, All staff clearly show a passion for their jobs and are very knowledgeable, all our questions were answered. upon check in everyone is given a group number for their activities for the day which allowed for easy transitions between each activity. The reef was beautiful and were able to snorkel for a good length of time, island tour is a lengthy walk mostly in sand so ensure you are comfortable to do this and highly recommend a hat for the walk throughout the island!! Glass bottom boat was awesome and we even got to see a turtle Highly suggest taking sea sickness medication to assist with the trip out and back. we were a group of 6 and 5 of us had a tablet the 6th ended up sick when usually not a problem. the staff were very helpful with offering him assistance when sick. Thanks for an awesome day!

Good, but some room for improvement
A great day trip, recommended. Excellent snorkelling, well organised through the day and a comfortable boat. But some feedback for the operators…. The catering was light on for a full day trip and the snacks to purchase ran out very early in the day. I was starving! This was not a $220 day trip menu… Also, having spent the whole day around the crew, I felt they gave off a vibe of ‘going through the motions’ rather than remembering that the guests are paying for an expensive day out- maybe the first and last time they will come to Lady Musgrave. There were some specific examples of a lack of professionalism that did not impress me - a male crew member eyeing up a bikini clad young female guest and doing ‘nudge nudge wink wink’ to one of his male colleagues. Another male team member making a derogatory remark about a female colleague, and generally, the crew engaging in a lot of chatter and banter with each other, not with the guests. And, giving information about the reef (while on the glass bottomed boat) at rapid fire - yes, we know that this is the 500th time you have said this, but it’s the first time we’ve heard it, so can you sound a tiny bit more interested in what you have to say? If I was the Skipper (who was excellent) or the operator, then I would want a better level of engagement and professionalism from my team.
