We were lucky enough to visit this beautiful holy place next day of Baisakhi so it was just like a religious carnival with Sikh people pouring in from whole country. We reached early morning around 6 am to our way back from Manali and wasn’t it a beautiful morning. What was pleasantly surprising to see was how proper the management there was regarding everything. Gurdwara Tilla Baba Farid is as old as Faridkot town itself. This Gurudwara is situated near the Qilla Mubarak. Baba Farid remained at this place in meditation for 40 days. It is believed that Baba Farid was forced by the then king to work as a mason in construction of the Fort. Babaji worked but the Mud vessel he had to carry on his had was by the grace of God actually kept few inches high from his had without any touch. As muktsar is my hometown, I certainly visit gurudwara tibbi sahib. I observe a peaceful environment here. Gurdwara Tibbi Sahib is associated with the Tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This place is situated in sandy terrain at a height (tibbi means a small hillock). Guru Sahib chose this place to stay on reaching Muktsar as it provided a very good view of the area. When the battle between the Forty Muktas and the Mughals was in progress, Guru Ji helped his sikhs by shooting arrows at the Mughals from this place. The birthdays of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and shahidi purab of Guru Arjun Dev Ji are celebrated with great fervour here.
