Monte Verde, Cloud Forest Private tours Pura Vida

Booked this through Native's Way and our guide Gustavo was amazing. We highly recommend the private tour, it is worth the money because it makes the trip more than just a walk through the forest, it will be the building of a core memory. His degree in Ornithology was key in having a knowledgeable guide in the Monte Verde Cloud forest tour. There are an array of birds at Monte Verde and he is able to distinguish the difference in there calls and if you are lucky enough he will be able to track their location. He does a wonderful pace to make sure you are comfortable in the tour, so it leads to an enjoyable visit. He is also very funny and one of the most interesting people you will come across. Our driver, Miguel, was also very good. He is always ready to go and courteous and respectable. He will go out of his way to take you to the front of your destination. We also want to give a special shout out to Juan and Jose. Pura Vida

    Favorite National Park
Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve was a highlight of our 2 week Costa Rica trip exploring many different national parks. There are limited numbers of people allowed per day and per trail at any one time to limit crowds and impact on the park. We purchased our tickets online months ahead of time and arrived at 8 am, one hour after the park opened (there were already 90 people in the park by then). From previous visits to national parks we discovered that if one wishes to see animals and learn about the area, a guide is essential (we had a fantastic guide: Victor +506-8308-9705. on Whats App). We were able to see a variety of animals: coati, many birds, tarantula, howler monkeys, millipede, hummingbirds, and best of all the resplendent quetzal. We spent 3 hours at a slow pace with our guide on two different trails. We did not explore places on our own as we knew we wouldn't see many animals. We drove our own car and were able to park on the road near the park entrance as we were early (the best animal viewing is earlier in the day). If arriving later one needs to park in a nearby parking lot and be shuttled in (about a 15 minute walk).

    Interesting tojr
We went on a guided morning tour. The guide was knowledgeable and we saw a variety of birds and some tarantulas. After the tour which lasted 3 hours we went around the forest on our own. The trails were well signposted. Take a jumper as it is cool in the morning and make sure you visit the humming bird cafe after
