Excellent diving spot. White tip sharks.

We went with Osa Divers and they were extremely professional. We met at 7am and it took us 45 mins to arrive at the dive spot. We saw sharks in each dive. My wife chose to snorkel and she also saw a shark, a turtle and lots of fish. Loved the dive and our dive master Eric was incredible. Had huge passions for diving and sea life. On the way back we saw dolphins which was incredible. The crew also were looking for humpback whales but we were not able to see one.

Snorkeling and diving with turtles, rays and sharks !
This snorkeling day trip was so great we booked again for the next day! We reached Caño island by boat and saw a pod of dolphins on the way. This is a biological reserve and the island and surroundings are well looked after and regulated. Snorkeling is compulsory with a life jacket for visibility but free diving is still possible. We saw turtles, white tipped sharks, rays, puffer fish, moray eels and numerous other beautiful fish pointed out by our friendly and helpful guides. We finished with a picnic on the beach with plenty of fresh fruit or a meal in a local restaurant. I would recommend a day trip to Caño island both for adults or families with children who enjoy snorkeling. The experienced divers with our group also enjoyed their dive and it was a great opportunity to meet other visitors too! As a side note some trips offer snorkeling with divers which means more waiting but smaller groups (ours was 5)- others are all snorkeling in a bigger group (ours was 12-18?) but less waiting. We did both and enjoyed them equally- the time spent in the water was the same. (2 x with a break on the island beach in the middle to swim or relax and lunch at the end)

    Fun snorkelling and boat ride
Definitely a good idea to do this trip from Drake Bay, not Uvita Beach, if you can as it is a much shorter boat ride (40 mins Vs 1.5 hours). The boat ride over was good fun and we stopped to watch dolphins. At the island we had two separate snorkelling sessions led by our guide and saw many fish, a free turtles and a couple of small sharks. Visibility was pretty good. The equipment standard was good. This is a morning tour really. You leave at 7ish with all the other boats (it is a bit confusing on the beach and since they don't use tickets or even wear branded T shirts it can be hard to find which boat is yours - they seems to do it by calling out your hotel name), and back around lunchtime. After you walk or get a lift up into town for a lunch that is part of the package which is OK but seems an unnecessary add on. Overall a fun and worthwhile trip but not cheap.
