Inbio Parque, really educational and a worthwhile cause.
InBio Parque is more off the beaten path, and is less of a tourist trap than other parks in Costa Rica. It is really educational and there are species of sloths and other animals that are easy to spot and give great photo opportunities for. Also, the animals are not caged which is very different from certain other parks I visited. InBio Parque is a conservation project and the park has more of a North American type set up, offering a short film at the beginning of the tour about Costa Rica and the history of InBio, and it is really educational, highlighting each of the conserved areas in Costa Rica (both private and public). It is a huge number. Also, you are donating to the project by visiting the park. It is a really easy walk (mostly paved roads, not like a hike) and is an ideal trip for those who prefer an easier walk but want to see wildlife (the elderly, tourists, people with disabilities).

    Very disappointed.
We were looking forward to visiting INBioparque and took a taxi from our hotel. After a long time in the never ending traffic and road construction we arrived at the gate only to be told the parque was closed. I checked the website before we left and it clearly states open 9-3 on Friday. There were no visible signs to explain why. It was a big disappointment as we changed our schedule to incorporate this venue on our limited time in San Jose. Our taxi driver was very nice and gave us ideas for something else to do in the vicinity. I strongly suggest having your hotel call ahead for you and not relying on the website as we did. Lesson learned. Cannot give information or feedback as we never made it inside.
