Souris Lighthouse, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Explore the lighthouse
The Souris Lighthouse was by far the best and most interesting lighthouse we visited on our trip to PEI. You are able to go inside and go to the very top to look out. You can actually step outside once at the top. There is no fee just a donation box. So much history for you to read as you travel through. The sea glass from all over the world was my favorite. There is a large gift shop next door as well.

Nicest gift shop we saw while we were in this area of PEI!
This is a beautiful lighthouse - very picturesque. I highly recommend the gift shop if you are searching for souvenirs / gifts for family & friends. There are so many locally-made items (including beautiful jewellery featuring PEI sand and seaglass).

Cute little lighthouse, learned about sea glass
What we liked most about this lighthouse was that it involved a proper tour, with explanations and the opportunity to ask questions. None of us knew anything about sea glass prior to coming here, and when we left we felt we had learned something interesting that we could share with others. The view is good, depending on the weather conditions of course, but the focus is more on the lighthouse itself. They have a great little gift shop right next door with lots of PEI souvenirs and interesting items. I was quite taken with the book selection of local and regional history. Well worth a visit.
