    Worth a visit
You have to take a guided tour but the guides are knowledgeable and it provides a good story as well as insights into life and living of the elite of the time

    Feels like Downton in Charlottetown!
The home itself is kind of off the beaten path up near the government buildings, but the surrounding residential area is full of gorgeous old homes, too, making it well work the walk. The tour guide was very knowledgeable (much more so than a similar tour at the lieutenant governor's house) and was accommodating as well. She let me stash my backpack in the office so I could move more easily through the house. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness. The house is beautiful, well restored, and has brilliant yard and view of the harbour. I love seeing these old homes and Beaconsfield has definitely made an impression!
