Very nice fishing town with stray cats
Volosko is a pleasant small fishing town close to Opatija. We ate a two different restaurants in the harbor which has also cocktail bars as well as other traditional restaurants. From the port towards Opatija it’s possible to walk along a pathway where you’ll find several diving spots and areas for sunbathing. Parking is easier early in the morning and late at night. There is a dedicated app for paying for your parking spot - way better than paying with change. Volosko has also a considerable amount of stray cats that are very friendly and sweet so make sure to carry some cat food with you.

Volosko
The neighbourhood is an upscale one with immense villas and beautiful houses. Mixing with them a moderate small houses and small restaurants. There is a cozy cake shop well known to the local as well as visitors situated amongst thee restaurants. I like the area away from busy diwnton of Opitija.

Start the Lungomare here
Volosko is the starting point (or ending point) on the famous 6.8 km Lungomare sea side walk to Lovran. The Lungomare is a must-do when visiting the area. We came from Lovran - had a double espresso in Volosko’s Caffe Bar Surf - before the beautiful walk home. Fabulous day!
