Quaint Church
I love visiting churches in my travels around the world, not from a religious aspect but because the churches generally, are so beautiful inside. This quaint little church is located in the centre of Opatija, Croatia, near the Villa Angiolina (today the Croatian Museum of Tourism) and next to the Hotel Kvarner. Originally built in the 14th century, the church is said to be an architectural masterpiece. It is also how the town of Opatija got its name as it was originally called St. Jacob’s Abbey and abbey in Croatian is opatija. The church and its surroundings are well worth a visit. There are lovely trees and seats and paths to walk around. Don't forget to leave a donation towards its upkeep and benefit of future generations. Lit a candle for a friend :)
As soon as I landed in Croatia, my dear friend had a heart attack. I told him I'd find a church and St. Jacob's was literally steps away from my hotel. The church was open and I was able to view everything, say some prayers from my firmed and light a candle. The church is welcoming and well maintanined. My business schedule didn't allow me to attend Mass, but I would hope to return someday.

Quaint little Church
Quaint little church in the centre of Opatija, across from Villa Angelina which is the tourism museum and next to the hotel Kvarner which is the first hotel in Opatija and a few steps away from the lady and the seagull statue at the waterfront. Lovely trees and seats around for resting and paths to walkaround.
