Delightful museum

The Croatian Museum of Tourism was established in 2007 and its headquarters were purposefully located in Opatija - the city where Croatian tourism was born and whose growth was completely intertwined with tourism. This unique museum collects, investigates and displays objects and stories that bear witness to the rich history of tourism in Croatia, but it also raises the question of how tourism today affects all of us - how our cities are changing, as well as how we change by traveling and welcoming travelers. The museum has three locations in the center of Opatija - villa Angiolina and Swiss House in the Angiolina Park and Juraj Sporer Art Pavilion in St. Jacob’s Park.

    Very interesting
Very interesting. However, Opatija needs to advertise this and it's sister museum in the Villa Angiolina much better! Very few signs about and no brochure or flier in hotel. We found by chance and thought it was closed as no signage and door very stiff. We were the only ones in the building and same with V Angiolina. Sad really as both places had very interesting exhibitions with info in English.

    Interesting
It is an interesting look into the history of Opatija, especially how Opatija looked 100 years ago and developed since. I was not overwhelmed with the museum (either of two buildings which look faboulous from outside), and i believe it is not a must-do in Opatija, but it is still a nice experience (and not expensive).
