    A quiet oasis
We drive from Livonia to visit this gem by the water, and it's always worth the trip. For first timers, this area is where Lake Huron narrows into the blue green waters of the St Clair river. It's a great location for watching massive freighters gliding by through the river and recreational boaters and sailers. The park itself is shaded by ancient oaks and includes a nice ball field, play structure and swings and picnic area with gazebo. The park is well kept. In summer, a vendor sells snack food and beverages. Port-a-johns serve as the only bathrooms. The park is adjacent to the scenic river walk and Huron Lightship, which offers tours for a fee.

Fun place to take the kids
The park has a fun castle theme which the kids loved. Lots of shade and BEAUTIFUL, old trees, if you appreciate that sort of thing. There is a memorial there as well. The access to the boardwalk and multiple museums is a plus, and makes for a fun day with the family, while still having time to stop at the beach for a stroll, or have dinner at one of the great restaurants on the water.
