Impressive artefacts presented well

This place is essential to visit if you like ancient history. The layout is very logical and easy to understand, each time period is well explained. There are so many fascinating artefacts, the Thracian section especially impressed me. It is a better museum than Sofia archeology museum in my opinion. There are lockers to store coats and bags and toilets downstairs. They have a nice gift shop with non tacky items to buy.

    Fascinating museum
    A beautiful museum with fascinating items from across different time periods. We spent around two hours perusing ancient tools, old coins and Roman statues. I would recommend anyone with an interest in the past to go along and be amazed at the well preserved artifacts on display.

    A museum to visit
    Wonderful museum. It is located in the center of Plovdiv. Entrace fee is very cheap. The visit to the museum retraces all the past history of this territory, from the ancient Thracians, through the Romans, up to the present day. One area is also dedicated to the history of the museum itself. There are English descriptions of everything shown.
