Very educational but not maintained
To our surprise, this museum is located next to a petrol station, next to Nasi Kandar restaurant and a supermarket! The authority should relocate it to a more suitable and proper place. It was only a few minutes walk from Grand Kampar Hotel. There’s many old machine used in the mining industry displayed in the museum. Unfortunately, the outdoor area displaying all these are not properly taken care of! Weeds growing in between the machines, some human statues depicting the mining worker were broken but not replaced or fixed. I hope the authority will do something to this place in order to preserve the history for the next generation.

Free Admission
Nice short stop for a brief history of Gravel Mining. Admission is free covered an outdoor and indoor(air cond) area with many information about mining and the labour. A young gentleman at the souvenir counter are very helpful, walking us around and brief us about the mining process and past history. Very informative and lots of old photos to see. A good stop if you happen in Kampar

Good history of mining industry in Kampar
There are plenty of exhibits including machinery used in tin mining. One can learn the different technology in tin mining in those days. One can also know the wages of miners and the historical price of tin. One can also learn why the tin mining industry disappear in 1980s.
