Beautiful and scenic drive

We rented a standard car to drive from Bariloch to San Martin de Ande The drive was easy and not busy. We stop at the seven lakes to the amazing views. We found it interesting that people would Ride bikes on the road. This is a must due bucket list item.

    A must!
    Do not forget your camera. You'll stop at every mirador to view the fantastic scenery of the Seven Lakes road. It's good to bring water and a lunch box as there are not many places to stop for food unless you are in Villa la Angostura or San Martin de los Andes or Bariloche. We did this trip from San Martin de los Andes to Villa la Angostura. Try to do it on a calm day, not windy as the lakes look amazing when calm.

    Seven Lakes route
    Rent a car and drive yourself! Make it a full day. Drive from Bariloche thru pampas, then slowly gain ground as enter the greenery and lakes. Views everywhere, take a break from driving to get pics and enjoy, Hikers and bikers share the road, all so pleasant. Be sure to visit the charming towns of Villa la Angostura and San Martin along Route 40, so beautiful, great little shops and markets.
