Fascinating Assembage
This building is quite large, in the city center where two roads go underneath the upper museum floor. The contents are well laid out and informative. The section on the flora and fauna had good specimens, we've seen a good number of the birds while we've been here. The history of civilization before the Europeans arrived shows a cultured and intelligent people that were over run and their resources stripped. Identical to neighboring terrirories. 150 peos entry is very reasonable. two levels, no elevator

Small but Interesting Regional Museum
Small museum located in Centro Civico. First floor is a natural history museum showing the plants and animals of the Patagonia Region. Upstairs covers the indigenous people of the region, Spanish colonialization and the formation of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Very interesting. Small admission fee.

Dated but informative
For a small price you get a pretty good overview of the indigenous history, colonization and subsequent settling of the area. Lots of interesting photos from the 1850’s on. There were English placards for most of the sections. It was a little like visiting someone’s attic.
