An Island of a Great Variation of Trees
This is a nice tour. We took a boat to the island with a tour guide. Once in the island they explained the difference of all kind of trees the Island has from many parts of the world. Some of them surprisingly big and tall. Very good experience.

Interesting and Informative
We booked a tour through a travel agency to visit Isla Victoria and the forest of unusual trees (arrayanes) on a neighboring island. The guide provided us with very interesting information about the actions of the early settlers on the island and the long-term effects on the environment there. Since it's part of a national park now, there are plans to restore the environment there, but it will take decades. The trip involved a bus ride to and from the port, and a boat ride (very comfortable) to the two islands. The information provided by the guide was invaluable in making the visit meaningful. In addition to the cost of the tour (about $50 US per person for a 6-7 hour trip with guide), there was the port tax and admission to the state park. Our total cost was about $65 per person for the day.

Beautiful, peaceful ride on the lake
On a clear day this is a wonderful trip. I took a guided tour that left from Bariloche via bus, and delivered us to the port where we hopped on a boat. The guide was tri-lingual and I didn't miss a thing, even though I was the only English speaker out of the 30 or so tourists. Beautiful mature forests of non-native pines planted years ago for research. The tour of the Arrayanes forest afterward was interesting as well- not as nice as the first part of the tour but worth a look. The lake and mountain views from the boat are incredible- I would take the ride just for that. Afterwards the bus delivered us back to town, right to my lodging. Well done! Easy to book the tour from many agencies in Bariloche- just walk around the civic center and you will see many opportunities.
