I had no idea that happened!!
I learned a lot about the various attempts to build a canal and saw lots of photos and artifacts. Most of the displays had signage Spanish and English, but a few did not. An audio tour device was available for $1 - well worth it to avoid translation issues. This was not the most dramatic place to visit, but the historical and economic impact of the Canal makes a greater appreciation of how it came to be a good background for further explorations of Panama City and the rest of the country. Photography allowed.

    Definitely worth visiting
We absolutely loved our visit to this museum. It is very well curated and maintained. If you are a pensioner, carry your passport or id and get a discount on the entrance ticket. The museum tells you the history of Panama and the plan for the canal from the 17th century to when it got built...... it is incredibly fascinating.
