Intimate, Beautiful Museum
This small, free museum is definitely worth your time. The molas are beautifully displayed and the exhibits are well curated. The museum does an excellent job explaining the craft’s history, cultural significance and how they are sewed. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. Really, the only negative was that there’s no gift shop in which to buy an authentic mola when you leave. The staff said there are plans to rectify this and advised purchasing from native women selling in some of the nearby plazas.

Fabulous collection
This museum was a great find. I can’t believe it’s free. We were lucky enough to have Leonardo as our docent. He knew every aspect of the history of molas and did a great job conveying their meanings and purpose. We learned about the Guna people and saw the progression of Mola through the years. Don’t miss it!

a MUST VISIT
This museum contains all you need to know about the wonderful history of Panamanian Molas. It is a very small museum, a must visit while in Casco Viejo. The whole museum took us about 45 minutes. The personnel are very professional and friendly. No cost.
