Fishing with Big Ben
Went out deep sea fishing with Jose and Gustavo, booked by Big Ben. Ben picked us up at 6:15 am at the hotel, took us to the dock and boarded the boat. Drove out approximately 20 miles, dropped gear and started trolling. Within 30 minutes we had hooked two sailfish at the same time. Wow. Great guys. Great day. Thanks.

Great protected historic bay
We were advised by our hotel that the beach at Playa Principal and Playa la Madera were not the cleanest. We did wander along them though and there are nice little beach side restaurants/bars with plastic tables and chairs; and excellent food. There are a variety of restaurants all along the waterfront. It is well worth the effort to head over to Playa la Ropa on the east side of the bay -- which can be reached by taxi for around $3. The water is clean and the beach is lovely. There are a handful of beach restaurants there that allow you to rent an umbrella and chairs for the day. The food at these simple little beach establishments was excellent.
