Golden Wheels
The Golden wheels which turn the sluice gates are a new installation and the view across the bridge adjacent to the station is the best. An old merchant and trading town D.M. owing to its location by the river it still maintains its old charm with botters and fishing boats moored alongside. Apart from kirks and squares there are numerous monuments to visit. Pubs, restaurants and shops ads sustenance and appeal. Perfect place to visit for a day.

Guided city tour Kampen by Kampen and Beyond
There are several tours to choose from, some more focussed on history and religion for instance and others more on art and architecture. That is really nice, as you get a focus on what your specific interests are. The friendly, communicative and energetic tour guide has knowledge on all topics, and his English is very good, in both speaking and understanding. I would certainly recommend “Kampen and Beyond”, for tourists, for family trips as well as for business purposes – it is a very nice and active break during a conference, we have experienced.
