Thank you Errol!

This is a special museum with a curator that knows his history. I felt privileged to enter the space, and will never forget it.

    A Mind-opener
Bureau of Ethnology rebuilt after the tragic quake, is now an outstanding place for a quiet and informative visit. The entrance garden is shaded with fine old trees, comfortable benches and several important monuments and commemorations. Inside the exhibitions are well-displayed and provide material insights into Haitian, Taino and African history. Information placards are in French and English and the displays are easily examined. Museum is attached to a higher learning institute and library. It is possible to get permission to use the archives and library.

    Wonderful and unique museum
Better known as the Bureau D'Ethnologie, this museum focuses on voudoun. There is limited walls text (in French) so in order to truly begin to understand the objects and space, make sure you've read at least part of Maya Deron's The Divine Horseman. While a highlight of my trip, the collection is limited and I would have loved seeing/learning more.
