    The area is used to show the real scale of our solar system, with the Sun at the center (a lamp post with 70cm diameter) and planets shown at real sizes (a pea-sized Earth is over 20m away). This, once comprehended, makes you feel how little we are even in context of our "little" planetar system. The old observatory was unfortunately closed but it didn't matter for me then. See more..
