    Simply Amazing and Very Humbling!
I took my dad here because we love learning and seeing history together, and this was one of our favorite trips yet! First off, the grounds were fantastic. Simply beautiful and off the main highway so it was quiet enough to really enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the ship and be able to reflect. The woman working the day we went was super friendly and incredibly helpful. She found out it was our first time visiting and gave us lots of great information. There is a small, but decent, museum on war history in the main room. Then to the second room there is a museum on the USS Batfish only. Wow...talk about powerful. You will learn the history about the ship, see an actual batfish fish, and see artifacts from the ships voyage. This was really great to see before going outside to the ship. Once outside you are greeted by about 50 plaques. These are all other submarines that were deployed. You can learn about all their kills and how many lives were lost as well. Again, it is a very humbling moment to stand there and really realize what happened on these magnificent ships. From the walkway you will be able to see the USS Batfish in all it's glory. Once you head towards the Batfish you will be able to walk onto the bridge. You will walk the full length of the ship to a stair case that leads down into the ship. From that point you will be able to tour each room and head back through the ship. There are many tvs with videos running to give you information on the ship and what functions each room did. There are many small spaces, so keep in mind if you are tall you will need to duck. Each room is small, but completely efficient. It is truly amazing that anyone would be able to live on such a vessel. You will work your way back through the ship and each room brings new discoveries and new information to learn. Once you reach the end of the ship you will climb back up a set of stairs. I highly suggest once you are on the bridge to then walk the length of the ship one more time to fully understand what all fit into such a small space. If you at all have the chance, please stop. You will not regret it. Even if you do not find WWII history to be fascinating, the ship will captivate you! As for formalities, tickets are $6 per person. Children $3. Restrooms are available and they are clean.

    Very interesting
This is a great place! The only drawback is the submarine actually floated off it's foundation and you can't go in until it is placed back in position. We arrived and found it closed. As we were thinking about where to go next, a worker drove up and said we could come in if we liked, because he would be there 20 minutes or so. He was full of information. There are several things to look at in their museum. I had no idea that a torpedo weighed over 3400 pounds! Go see it if you like that kind of stuff.
