Very Historic - firing of the Christmas guns is a must
Fort Reno is a great place to visit. It has a lot of historic buildings. There are a lot of interesting facts and things to see from artifacts, photographs, images of the 1888 Cheyenne and Arapaho Agency, German POW's to the Buffalo Soldiers. If you like ghost stories and the such, then the firing of the Christmas Guns is a must see. Fort Reno Christmas Guns is a tradition brought here by German immigrants. The discharging of firearms such as cannons and guns was believed to dispel evil spirits in preparation for the upcoming holiday. Although they can be loud. If you like history and are in the Oklahoma City area this is a trip worth doing.

All the Way to (Fort) Reno
The two ladies looking after the site tried hard but there wasn’t really a great deal to see. The visitor centre and museum were ok, Cavalry museum much better. Worth an hour or so if you’re passing.

Ghost Tour must!
Nice little museum. Only one building is available to tour, but you can walk around the square and view other buildings from the outside. Remodeling, adding signage for buildings in the future. Wouldn't drive hours out of your way, but if you're in the area - stop. If you can make it on a Saturday evening - take the ghost tour! Lots of fun and very very informative for only 10$! Bring a warm coat and a small flashlight to enjoy it more. Long walk from building to building where you will stop at each one for info and stories. Then to the cemetery for more great info and stories. Our ghost tour took three hours, 7:30 to 10:30pm, and we learned a lot about the fort and people who lived there. Call ahead for reservations, there were 6 groups of 25 on our night!
